Cruce

John Pharris Cruce
My Cruce ancestors immigrated from Belfast, Ireland in the early 1800s. Cruce is a common name throughout Europe and the U.S. and is a variation of the french name Cruise. It is likely that the progenitor of this family was a Hugenot (or French Calvinist) forced to flee France to avoid persecution.
I did not feel the need to post my direct family tree here, simply because the majority of the information was taken directly from a book; Outline of Cruces by Priscilla Montgomery. Luckily, this book has been made available online in pdf format by her son. I would like to thank Mr. Terrell Gibbs for posting his website and the pdf of the book, this has been invaluable to me and surely many others interested in the Cruce family as well.
